Hi Friends- As most of you know I care deeply about everyone being able to play the sport they love! This year, as part of my role as Athlete Ally Board Co-Chair I decided to join a cool fundraising effort we highlight in June for Pride but play throughout the year... It's called Playing for Pride.
I have pledged to bike ride 300 miles to fundraise for playing for pride!
Please join me and donate an amount per mile!
I am pledging 3 dollars/mile that I ride (up to 300 miles). You can match me.. or pledge what you want. Every 10cents/mile will be a donation of $30 total if I ride all 300 miles! Please join me!
FYI.. here is the history of Playing for Pride: In 2017, professional soccer player Austin da Luz saw the LGBTQI+ community in his state come under attack, and started Playing for Pride as a way for professional soccer players to show their support for LGBTQI+ inclusion in and through sport.
Eight years later, we find ourselves in a moment where standing up proudly for the LGBTQI+ community is a critical action of solidarity, community, and love.
Playing for Pride brings together athletes, teams, and leagues to support Athlete Ally's mission of making sports inclusive for the LGBTQI+ community.

This afternoon, before my Athlete Ally meeting, Roger and I logged 14 miles including my favorite ride along the Henry Hudson (waterfront) Trail between Atlantic Highlands and Highlands New Jersey. So pretty! 13 to go and I meet my 300 mile goal!

Roger and I logged 20 miles in the rain and shine today and stopped for brunch at a favorite spot in Monmouth Beach called My Kitchen Witch. Not quite the same as our french picnics but pretty yummy and fun!

Today is the last day of Pride Month as well as my son Andrew’s birthday. We went on a quick 11 mile ride together this afternoon! Nice summer ride!!!

Hey friends. Back in New Jersey and can continue logging my outdoor biking miles (not counting any of my indoor spinning for this fundraiser!). Today Roger and I went on a local 12 mile morning coffee ride to a local cute town Fairhaven NJ. There is this street I absolutely love called "Sycamore" with big old gorgeous trees and houses and we made sure to ride on it.. It's the first day of summer, flowers are blooming and the lawns are so healthy!

Just wanted to add a few photos of our amazing ride in Bordeaux. We started each day around 9am and rode about 3 hours most days with stops at wineries and chateaux and for long french lunches. Luckily we burned a lot of calories! Also, hopefully it will lead to raising money for an organization dear to my heart! I am posting a photo of a great picnic we had in the middle of a riding day! :)
