I’m birding for a better world! Can you cheer me on?
I'm excited to be a part of Feminist Bird Club's Birdathon for Congo! Our birding community is coming together to celebrate the inclusive nature of bird joy while fundraising for Friends of the Congo (FOTC), a nonprofit that amplifies, resources and empowers communities at the frontlines of the climate crisis in Congo. Donations are displayed and processed in USD for this US-based non-profit.
Please help me reach my goal by leaving a flat donation or making a pledge to support my birding efforts! Your support will help provide critical funds for Friends of the Congo. Thank you for considering and stay tuned for my birding updates! 🐦

spent the morning birding Sam Smith, lots more warbler action today. Highlights include a Canada Warbler, Wilson’s Warbler and so many Bay-breasted warblers. One of my goals this year is to photograph more species and so far for this birdathon I have had 10 photo lifers.

this morning I woke up early and went to my fav Toronto hotspot Colonel Sam Smith Park. I will spend my day birding here racking up the species! Including this mourning warbler, I swear an ID feature is that the photos are always out of focus. What a skulky warbler.

I finished the day up at my fav local spot safari marsh and watched common gallinule run back and forth across the road while Virginia Rails grunted and a marsh wren dodged all my efforts for a photo! Truly an amazing first day with a total of 84 species.
