Why I'm Walking for Heart Failure

Heart Failure and heart transplants change lives forever. Patients and their families face overwhelming emotional and financial burdens—from lifelong medical care to the stress of simply making ends meet.

That's why I'm lacing up for the HeartBrothers' Virtual 5K and raising money to help provide financial aid, emotional support, and resources to Heart Failure and transplant patients in need.

I'm excited to share that I have added another 18.26 miles walked since May 15th! I have managed to add these additional miles thanks to taking my 2 pups on lake walks near my apt, participating in a 1-mile Fun Walk with a couple of my friends and our pups, and working my second job, which is Game Day Staff - Parking for the NCFC and NC Courage men and women's soccer teams based out of Cary, NC. The miles added up quickly, and did not feel overwhelming, because the activities I was doing were fun and engaging. I really enjoyed this Virtual 5K and will definitely participate again next year!

I'm excited to share that I have walked 20.65 miles since May 10th, between walking my 2 pups and working at my second job (which is Game Day Staff - Parking - for the NC Courage and NCFC soccer teams in Cary!) I'm excited to see how many more miles I can walk by May 18th! :)
