I’m very excited to have met my goal of 100 bird species sightings with a wonderful trip to Mines Road and Patterson Pass! We had great sightings - my favorites were Phainopeplas, a Lazuli Bunting, a Lark Sparrow, Rufous- crowned Sparrow, and so many others! I added 12 more species! I went on a Bike and Bird -and Ferry program offered by Jeff Manker and Derek Heins as part of the Birdathon special programs. It was great fun and very birdy! I also went to the Gallinas Sanitary District ponds and some species there. You can check out my bird lists on eBird.

I'm excited to share that between a walk at Arrowhead Marsh on Feb. 20th and a walk today, Feb. 27th at Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary, I've spotted 30 species of birds. The highlights were Ridgeway Rails at Arrowhead and a DOZEN Black Skimmers at Elsie Roemer! Follow along as I try to find 100 species of birds. Here are my checklists from these two walks:
