I am very excited to be representing the KCNT1 Epilepsy Foundation in this special fundraising program hosted by Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center to raise money for research in rare diseases. The money our team raises will go towards a grant awarded to a research team focused on KCNT1!

This is a bike ride around downtown Philadelphia on June 10th! (I have never been to Philly — and I'll be honest, its been a while since I've ridden bike!).

As the executive director for this Foundation, I am so excited to be part of this program. Please support me, my great nephew, Andrew, and all the families impacted by the KCNT1 gene by donating today! You can be a part of transformative research for hundreds of children across the world! (And I know most of them!) 100% of your donation will go towards rare disease research for KCNT1!

You can support research into this KCNT1 gene mutation that causes debilitating seizures and help us find new treatments. While we hope for a cure one day, we also need better treatments that don't have horrible side effects.

I am starting to 'train' soon -- so I make it to the finish line! If you could donate $10/mile I would really appreciate it! I plan to ride a minimum of 13 miles but could go up to 70! (hmmm...I'm no spring chicken anymore!). We must raise a minimum of $20k in order to get the match from UPenn Orphan Disease Center!
