Why I'm Walking for Heart Failure

We lost my father in law, Pat Sullivan, last February. Pat suffered from heart failure most of his adult life and received a heart transplant which gave him 11 bonus years. These years allowed him to meet his grandchildren and create a wonderful foundation for his legacy to live on. This is why supporting heart failure awareness is so important to me.

Heart Failure and heart transplants change lives. Patients and their families face overwhelming emotional and financial burdens—from lifelong medical care to the stress of simply making ends meet.

That's why we're lacing up for the HeartBrothers' Virtual 5K. Every step we take is for heart health. Please donate—every dollar helps.

For our last walk we went on the bike path to the lake, stopped at Veteran’s Park with the girls and then made our way back. I was afraid it would be too cold but the sun surprised us and made it a perfect walk for the last day. I’m not quite at my goal so if anyone would like to support my walk I would appreciate it. We are raising money for heart failure patients in honor of Papa Pat. ❤️🙏

Walked down the bike path today. Saw lots of Cardinals, Blue Jays, and Baltimore Orioles. Also 10 deer or so. Hoping to walk w the girls tomorrow!

Today we did a Mother’s Day weekend walk at Harrington State Park in Wisconsin. It included a walk around a quarry and paths along Lake Michigan. Can’t wait to get more miles in this week. We were greeted by a cardinal right as we took off… surely a sign from Papa Pat. ❤️
