My Mission
I am looking forward to raising money for cancer research because my grandfather was diagnosed when I was little. He spent several years going through chemotherapy, and luckily he is a survivor, but I know that tons of other people aren't so lucky. I always knew about cancer, and of course I wanted to raise money, but this experience hit close to home. Ever since my grandfather got cancer, I have done everything I can to make sure as many people can survive as possible. I might not be able to come up with a cure, but I can raise money so the people who can, have the resources to do so. October Saves helps combine two of my favorite things in the world - hockey and raising money for cancer research. I am so excited to participate for yet another year, and am happy to do my part in the search for a cure.

5-1 loss... 4 goals scored by the same player, high quality shots on odd man rushes and breakaways - it's a tough situation for a goalie but Beast made some incredible saves; she allowed only 2 goals on the first shot and scrambled hard to keep the goal count as low as it could be all things considered

It was a really rough one, but Beast stood strong and only allowed two goals on the first shot... and both of those were just incredible precise shots to the top corner. There are two she'd like back, but despite the score and a lower than her norm save percentage, she really stood on her head and (believe it or not) kept the game "close"! (She was pulled late in the second to give her a break, and the team gave up another 4 on 6 shots to end early under the mercy rule policy. So she really did a lot to keep it "close" up to then.)
