My Wilderness Heals Journey

Hi Friends,

Thank you for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page and learn more about Wilderness Heals and Stone House.

Stone House is a vital domestic violence agency providing shelter, services, and hope to survivors of domestic violence in Boston. Wilderness Heals is Stone House’s largest source of unrestricted funding, allowing the organization to meet the most urgent needs of survivors and their families.

In past years, this event has helped fund the Early Learning Center—a trauma-informed daycare for children. This year, your support will help sustain Stone House’s emergency shelter and essential programs, especially critical as state and federal funding are at risk and remain uncertain.

This is my 9th consecutive year participating as a hiker, and this year, I’m honored to take on a new role as Event Manager, in addition to continuing as a Team Leader. In July, I’ll be one of the team leaders leading a passionate group of women on a 3-day backpacking trip through the White Mountains—raising awareness and essential funds for Stone House every step of the way.

Domestic violence has shaped my life—from childhood into adulthood. Healing is not linear, and I continue to work through its impacts every day. This hike is part of my healing journey, and I hike for those who are starting on their own healing journey.

I know many causes compete for your attention and generosity. It would mean so much if you chose to support this one—connecting the healing power of nature with the life-saving mission of Stone House. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps provide safe shelter, trauma-informed care, and the opportunity for survivors to rebuild their lives.

If you’re not in a position to donate right now, there are still powerful ways to show up: share resources, start conversations, and help normalize talking about domestic violence. And of course—virtual high fives, hugs, and loud cheering are always welcome and appreciated!

Back from an inspiring weekend supporting Stone House and their clientele. We met so many people on the trails and in the huts who were interested in hearing about why we were on the trails this weekend. Thank you to the two women who donated cash, to the men and women who took QR codes and to people who shared their stories.

How lucky to have seen a white Lady Slipper on last week’s training hike ! We love seeing all the flora in the White Mountains. Remember to leave plants where you find them - snap a pic and move on 🌿

I was one of the team leaders on the Hedgehog Mountain training hike over the weekend. What a treat to have a sunny day on the weekend ! We had a great day and were rewarded with SO many lady slippers and other flora (Canadian mayflower, trillium, etc). We met another group who were out raising money for a different cause. It was a good day to do good things for our communities!

Completed my first Wilderness Heals Training hike yesterday (5/18)

the bugs were relentless so we moved steadily on the trails and had so many rewards along the way: lush greenery, spring flora, tons of newts, an eastern milk snake! And we talked to a large group of hikers about the hike and its mission! We are hoping to see some interest from some of the women we talked to. Shoutout to Candace and Danielle for having the QR codes ready and available !
