My Mission, My Why
Thank you for supporting WOW IV (W.A.R. on Wheels) The fourth annual event kicking off on August 21, 2022, leaving from Mackinaw City, MI to St. Charles, IL for a total of 785 miles. We will ride over 100 miles per day for 7 straight days. We do this to mimic the grueling aspects of children fighting cancer. This event over 7 days riding is harder and longer than 7 days of the Tour de France... and we are old non-professional riders... and we will not take a rest day.
To date in the previous 3 WOW rides, we have ridden over 4,000 miles!
The WOW team rides to help give the children and their families strength & courage. We ride to create awareness and to help fund research, we need more to be done to end pediatric cancer.
My daughter Madi survived an almost deadly 3-year battle against stage 4 Lymphoblastic Lymphoma at age 10. We are so blessed and thankful for this outcome as she enters her sophomore year at University of Missouri next year. We are also devastated to know so many children lose their battles. Although Madi survived, based on archaic treatments 50 to 60 years old, her and many of the survivors will face a lifetime of medical setbacks and secondary cancers. We need to do better.
Every single dollar donated to this ride is restricted to altering the outcomes of these diseases by funding cutting edge research hand-picked by Cal's Angels Board of Directors and Research Committee that I chair. Also, the entire ride is funded by Glen Galloway and therefore literally every penny of every dollar you donate gets deployed to save our children!! You will not find a better place for your donations than right here.
Please reward our grueling and painful efforts on the bike with donations to help future children diagnosed with the horrific disease. We are excited to announce our partnership with the B1G Ten Cancer Research Consortium to use funds from our rides to begin clinical research for children.
Sincerely and Thankful
