Janette's "Good Cookie" Climbing for the Kids!
Hi! This summer, I will be hiking and climbing my HEART out for the kids in memory of Anjali Khatri, a college bestie's adorable 3-year-old who passed from childhood cancer. Let's make Anjali proud as we bring hope for kids like her by supporting Cookies For Kids Cancer. With Anjali's fun spirit in mind, I want to bring joy with positive efforts, playfulness on the trails, and help from good people like you!
I have been working on a personal goal of climbing 100 different Adirondack mountains and have only 9 more to go! As I get closer to the finish line this summer, I am partnering with Cookies For Kids Cancer to raise funds for their important work. CFKC will follow my hiking journey as part of their Good Cookie Challenge and I'm hoping, with your help, we can crush our fundraising goal!

I had a beautiful hike with my Rochester Women's Network hiking group last evening. We braved the steep hills at Abraham Lincoln Park in Webster, NY. The views on the Bay were so worth the effort and I saw two blue herons fly away as we approached. I'm grateful to still be receiving support for the Good Cookie Challenge for Cookies For Kids Cancer! Thank you!

Final "Good Cookie Challenge" goal achieved! On Saturday, I reached my 100th Adirondack summit on Castle Rock in Blue Mountain Lake. I wore Anjali's rubber band bracelet that is shaped like a bear, and I had her mini doll in my pack. We did it, baby girl: over $3000.00 raised for "Cookies For Kids Cancer," surpassed the 47-mile requirement, and reached my 100th summit. Now we let the goodness keep rolling until the fundraiser's end of August 31. We can still get support to fund less toxic and safer treatments for kids enduring cancer treatments. I'm incredibly grateful to all my supporters! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I hiked another mile and a half last evening at Mendon Ponds while learning to identify plants like motherwort and snakeroot. I picked a lot of black berries! I saw two deer enjoying them in the distance. I can't believe I have hiked over 50 miles since June 1. Go, Good Cookies!

Here is a record of my first 50 miles tracked through All Trails for "The Good Cookie Challenge." The 47-mile goal is achieved but I'm still hiking as we are less than $200 away from the finish line by August 31.
