Jeff Spencer

Jeff Spencer has called Leadville home for the past 16 years and is deeply rooted in the local community as both an educator and coach. With 18 years of teaching experience, including three in Rifle and 15 in Leadville, Jeff has also spent over a decade coaching Nordic skiing and recently began coaching mountain biking. This will be his second season with the MTB team.

Jeff’s connection to the Leadville Trail 100 MTB runs deep. He first completed the race in 2012 as part of the Leadman Challenge, finishing in 8 hours and 48 minutes. He also took on the course on a tandem bike in 2015 and 2016, and most recently rode to a strong 8:36 finish in 2024. Now stepping into the role of Dream Chaser, Jeff is aiming to beat last year's time and help inspire every rider on course to chase down their own finish line dreams, with a personal goal of going sub 8:30.
