My Mission for Rare Disease Research

The Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center hosts this event to raise money for research in rare diseases and I'm once again thrilled to participate! Please consider donating to our cause and being a part of transformative rare disease research.

I am so grateful you’re here.

This effort is about coming together as a group of families, friends, and supporters—as well as it is an opportunity for fundraising. Our communities, strengthened immeasurably by our collective gathering around scientific research, not only seek the much needed seed money for research, but come together to emotionally support and inspire each other for the year ahead and to build resilience and relationships on what can feel like a lonely road at times.

Every dollar raised moves us forward. It fuels critical research, deepens our understanding of Aoife’s rare disease (SETBP1 haplo-insufficiency), and helps accelerate the path toward meaningful therapies in the future for this rare disease.
