Hi! I’m Marcus Seevers, a high school science teacher at Adams-Friendship High School in Wisconsin. I’m fundraising for The Great Wisconsin Birdathon because I love connecting my students with nature and showing them how we can make a difference. Birds like the Kirtland’s Warbler and Bobolink need our help to thrive, and every dollar we raise supports local conservation efforts. I’m excited to lead my students in this bird-counting adventure—it’s a chance to learn, have fun, get outdoors, and protect the wildlife we cherish!

Finally sharing our Birdathon update from last Friday’s count at Quincy Bluffs State Natural Area! Huge thanks to two incredible DNR employees who led our hike through cool, overcast, and misty conditions. Our team set a record with 65 species recorded! Highlights include a Short-billed Dowitcher and Yellow-throated Warbler (heard and recorded, not seen) and a glimpse of an Indigo Bunting pondering its migration plans in the unusual weather. Check out our full eBird checklist that is linked.
Our team has also raised an additional $254.00 making our total funds raised $538.70 as our the time of this post (another record for us)!!!

Your Donation Makes a Difference For Birds
Donations made to the Great Wisconsin Birdathon support the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin’s Bird Protection Fund, which has given out over $1.4 million towards Wisconsin’s highest priority bird conservation projects since its inception in 2009.
Whether it's creating Piping Plover habitat, rearing Whooping Crane chicks, spreading awareness about declining songbirds, supporting community initiatives for bird-friendly neighborhoods, engaging new and underrepresented voices in the birding community, building impactful collaborations to protect Wisconsin's Important Bird Areas, or protecting our neotropical migrants on their long migratory journeys to Central America... the Bird Protection Fund is there to help.
Your donations make this work possible. Thank you for supporting on-the-ground conservation and being there #ForTheBirds!
