Support my 'Today We Ride' Ski and Snowboard Challenge!
The Downhill Derelicts are once again riding to increase awareness and accessibility of adaptive sports. We’re teaming up with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program, a non-profit group that supports sport for life by breaking down the financial, physical, and social barriers for individuals with disabilities.
Math cheat sheet (yeah, it's an odd metric):
I'm aiming for 100,000 feet.. That means a 1-cent pledge for every 100-vertical feet= $10 donation if I reach my goal.
5-cent pledge = $50, a 10 cent pledge = $100, 25 cents = $250 etc.
Over the last six years, the group has raised over $240,000 for adaptive sports programs. The group goal is to raise $40,000 this year. I’m asking you to sponsor me in a quest to raise the most in the fundraiser challenge. I am competing against as many as 38 other skiers and snowboarders to raise the most funds. You can support my campaign by pledging any amount per 100-vertical feet that I actually ski during the five-day event (math help at the bottom).

You can also opt to make a one-time flat donation. Depending on your tax deduction objectives, one-time donations are tax-deductible immediately. A pledge will be calculated and effective at the end of the campaign. Regardless of your option, I pledge to earn every penny we raise with sweat, grit, and knowing that what we are doing together makes positive impacts in the lives of adaptive participants, their families, and communities.
For our US-based donors, we are extremely excited to announce that the Downhill Derelicts Foundation has applied for 501(c)(3) status. This will allow your donation to qualify for tax-deductible gift giving objectives as well as making your donation eligible for many corporate matches to double your impact.

Thank you all so much!
I am very humbled and grateful for all the outpouring of support this year. Your generosity helped propel me (us) to third place in individual fundraising!!!
With your generosity, the Downhill Derelicts were able to raise $80,000 this year, which will allow Whistler adaptive sports to cover the costs for approximately two more coaches next year for adaptive athletes!
Now for some not quite so good news… Unfortunately, before the official event started, I injured my left arm while skiing with some of the group on Sunday. Sadly, it ended my ski season. Since I was unable to ski any official vertical feet for the challenge*, I hope those that got away easy this year will double their donation for next year.
Lots of love and hugs to all of you, I’ll be back at it next season to help adaptive athletes, and I hope you will be too.
Lots of love,
-Brian
