My Mission

I'm excited to be a part of this Female Bird Day Birdathon! Our community is coming together to celebrate and highlight female birds as part of Female Bird Day, while simultaneously fundraising for another often overlooked and vulnerable population in our community—those seeking asylum.

Please help me reach my goal by leaving a flat donation or making a pledge to support my birding efforts in this inclusive campaign. Your support will help provide funding for critical life expenses for asylum seekers in the United States. Thank you for considering!

I finally went to the Santa Rosa Creek trail and WOW is that a birdy spot! I got really good looks at female black-headed grosbeak and bullocks orioles (on a nest!), and lots of super cute yellow warblers. Also saw a female Cooper’s hawk 🔥 I’m sad to go back to work tomorrow and not spend the day birding. This has been so much fun and a huge thank you and shout out to all the donors 🙏🥰🩷

It was a chilly and rainy (!) day of solo birding in Bodega Bay. I started at Bodega Head where the yellow lupine are exploding 💛and was excited to see Pigeon guillemots and nesting Pelagic Cormorants. I stopped in Owl Canyon to say hello to the Wrentits and then checked out the surf scoters, Pacific loon, and northern shovelers (why are they still here?), before ending the day by jumping in the ocean (so fun and so cold)! 🌊🤗

we had fun birding in the fog at Islands in the Sky today! So many Wilson’s warblers singing their hearts out. Highlights included Purple finch, Hermit Warbler, and successfully identifying female juncos (Also Jeffer made us sandwiches). I’ve already passed my species goal with two more days to go! 💪 Here’s the list from today:

I birded Annadel last night which was so beautiful. The highlight was finding three super cute fledgling Bewick’s wrens and their anxious parents. Also had a Western Tanager just as there sun was setting 🔥
