Why We Ride
The We The People Ride is a story-telling effort. We will meet the people who live on the border, serve one another on the border, those who work along the border, and those who have the best way forward for our immigration and border practices. We know we have a broken system and we must understand those affected by it to fix it.
I am excited about trying to see this issue up close and more clearly! And also to be able to support this amazing organization whose purpose I deeply connect to--trying to be a voice of reason and collaboration in our polarizing times thru encouraging people of faith to make the common good their voting criteria. Please help support this ongoing effort and sponsor my ride if possible. Thank you friends!

So many thanks to all my supporters and the believers in this righteous cause of witnessing the story of immigration policy and the border.
Tow weeks ago, We The People For Common Good Immigration & Border Practices Cross-Country Bike Ride was completed.
In the nine and half weeks and over 3,159 miles that was ridden, we met so many wonderful people doing great work for the neediest people impacted by our country's border policies and practices.
This ride was a story-telling effort, and I want to tell you a bit of the back story of how it came about and let you know where the story will go from here.
Two truths became clear on the ride: There is so much work to do: and it is going to take us all to build a new coalition of action to get that work done.
In the coming months, Vote Common Good and WeThePeopleRide will continue to invite people across the United States to care about the issues facing those seeking to become part of this country's collective "We." And, we will invite people to express that commitment when they vote in 2022 and 2024.
Immigration has not always been and need not be a partisan issue. Unfortunately, the current expression of Trump-infused Republicanism is still committed to a war on immigrants and a fixation with an immoral use of militarization on our Southern border. So, we do all we can to call voters of faith and conscience to vote so that Republican policies do not again become the law of the land.
This ride took a large and ever-growing group of people to become a reality. I am so encouraged by the commitment and effort of the team that came together around this ride. The impact of this work was only possible because of their incredible work and dedication.
Thank you to the hundreds of donors who believed in our efforts and indeed kept us on the road.
Thank you to the awe-inspiring team of partners we met along the border who are doing first-hand work. Please follow and support the work of these incredible people and groups.

This weekend I'm traveling to St. Augustine for the last 2 days of the ride across the entire southern border of the US--looking forward to recaping and celebrating with the many people who have grinded the miles in and gained much insight into our broken immigration system and the people that are being harmed by it on both sides of the border. Thank you for making this possible for the #wethepeopleride leadership and team. It was said it couldn't be done, but it happened!

I want to thank everyone for your generous donations to WeThePeopleRide put on by VoteCommonGood. This is an amazing organization that is bringing people together to find solutions to political and social issues that are not consumed by thinking about what I may want, but what benefits ALL of us. This really was brought home to me on this ride by being right there on the ground, riding the roads and talking to people, churches, non-profits and organizations on both sides of the border about our broken immigration system. Things that are broken can really harm people and that is definitely what is happening on the border. That's why we need to fix it. Now.
Our government consists of We the People and it acts in our name. It's time for us to make sure that the government's actions match our intent and the highest aspirations of us as Americans and human beings. I will give a more personal update later--again, thank you!

We The People Ride
Immigration is a human story. The We The People Ride is a story-telling effort. We will meet the people who live on the border, serve one another on the border, those who work along the border, and those who have the best way forward for our immigration and border practices.
Through our Border, Community, and Virtual rides, we will tell the stories of people all across the United States who have come as refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants. These stories will inspire and shape our understanding of who we are as a nation and who we can be.
Join us for a ride into the life-changing stories of these amazing people.
