LT100 MTB DreamChaser- Jeff Spencer
Jeff Spencer is back for his second year as the LT100 MTB DreamChaser. After an incredible 2025 debut, he’s returning to the start line with even more purpose.
Jeff has called Leadville home for the past 16 years. Originally from Michigan, he’s become a steady presence in the community as both an educator and coach. With 18 years of high school teaching experience, he’s spent over a decade coaching Nordic skiing and is heading into his second season leading the local high school mountain biking team.
His connection to the Leadville Trail 100 MTB runs deep. He first completed the race in 2012 as part of the Leadman Challenge, finishing in 8:48. He returned on a tandem in 2015 and 2016, and then rode a solo 8:36 in 2024.
In his first year as DreamChaser, Jeff delivered in a big way! Starting from the back of the pack, he passed 1,585 riders, crossed the line in 8:15:45 (chip time), and raised over $142,000 for the Legacy Foundation.
Now in year two, Jeff is building on that momentum. With his wife, Amanda, a fellow educator, by his side, he’s once again racing to support the Trail 100 Scholarship and the students he works with every day.

Jeff Spencer showed up for year two as our LT100 MTB DreamChaser and delivered in a BIG way. But the numbers only tell part of the story. Every rider passed represented another pledge and more support for the Lake County community. To Jeff, and to every race participant, supporter, friend and family member who pledged, donated, shared and cheered him on along the way: THANK YOU. This is what the DreamChaser program is all about, turning an incredible day on the bike into an even bigger impact for the community that welcomes the Leadville Race Series year after year. We are so proud of you, Jeff!!
