My Mission
I'm excited to join this incredible initiative! Golden Gate Bird Alliance's mission to inspire people to protect Bay Area birds is very important to me and I'm proud to help them make a difference.
The Golden Gate Bird Alliance helped me foster my love for birding through its free field trips! This organization has also helped me learn more about birds because they have a great group of instructors that have helped me deepen my knowledge of birds and birding.
I also appreciate how the GGBA supports the community for the people and the birds through education programs and restoration programs.
My goal is to show my appreciation for this organization and the birds by photographing 70 different species! While I know my skill isn't the best, hopefully my love will shine through.
Please support me by giving to my page. Every dollar counts! Thank you.

This weekend I went for sea (Miller/Knox) to summit (Inspiration Point) to look for my last few birds to photograph before the fundraiser is over! I was able to get some migratory birds in the hills and some fun shots of the larger birds (thank you, wild turkey for posing).
Thank you all for supporting my fundraiser, and I am SO CLOSE to my goal of $1500. If you feel like donating more, GGBA and I would greatly appreciate your support!

Hello all! I'm back and it's spring migration season! Instead of getting a ton of migratory birds in the Bay Area, I took advantage of a trip to Chicago to see a ton of migratory birds, which were so cute! Some other highlights from the trip included seeing the Black-crowned Night Heron Rookery at Lincoln Park and all the female Northern Cardinals, really working it. Although I have a cardinal in my album already from February, I thought I would give an honorary mention to this gorgeous girl who was really working it!
Thank you all for supporting me! We're in the home stretch for the fundraiser, and I appreciate everyone's contributions!

I did it! Just over a week ago, I went over to MLK Regional Shoreline Garretson Point and Tolay Regional Park over the weekend to take more pictures! I've been having some issues with my big lens, so I had to use my smaller zoom lens. Something I want to work on next is getting the white balance better so my photos don't get so washed out and also work on focusing quickly. So this last group of photos I wasn't the happiest about, but that means I still have room to learn and grow when it comes to bird photography!
I had such great times at both Garretson Point and Tolay. It was great catching the shorebirds in-between their winter and breeding plummage (like the Willet in my album). Then at Tolay, it's always a surprise what you're going to get (Swainson's Hawk! Flew off before I could get a picture) and the bird boxes was buzzing with Tree Swallows.
Thank you everyone for your support!! I will keep going even though my initial goal has been reached because this has been such a fun learning experience!

Wow! It's been awhile since I did an update. Thank you all for continuing to support me. This is a blend of birding I've done locally in the East Bay, and some birding I did in Southern California. Here's a yellowlegs I saw at Meeker Slough last week!

I finally have taken photos in my neighborhood, and more importantly, in the Bay Area! It was such a lovely day, so I had to take advantage! There were so many highlights, including the Black Scoter that love to come to the marina the last few winters. It was so fun to take a moment to watch them interact, dive, and call their melancholy tones.
