My Mission

Welcome to a new year of October Saves! This is my 10th year participating, and we’re going big and bold with a goal of $20,000.

This year I’m starting my junior year of high school, and I’m busier than ever with school, hockey, school band, and now taking care of and training three puppies. Even with everything going on, we’re going to work tirelessly to reach our goal!

After 10 years of participating in October Saves, it means so much to me to be able to help support breast cancer research and the fight to find better treatments and, someday, a cure.

And as Coach Pete would say:

“Screw it on straight and go hard to the boards!”

So that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Year 10. Let’s make it our biggest one yet.

A very special thank you to the Danbury Hat Tricks for hosting an incredible Hockey Fights Cancer / October Saves Night and giving us the honor of dropping the ceremonial puck for such an important cause!

It was also something truly special for me to finally get back out on the ice at the Hat Tricks, where I used to play. That brought back some wonderful memories!

Thank you to the entire Hat Tricks organization, the players, the fans, and everyone who came out to show their love and support. It means more to us than words can express.

Together, we're making saves and fighting cancer, one puck at a time! 🏒🥅🎗️

I wanted to say a very special thank you to the two wonderful sisters we met at Danbury Fair Mall yesterday. While Andi and Moni were there raising awareness and funds for October Saves, I invited these lovely ladies to take a photograph with the girls and asked if they would keep our family, our fundraising mission, and everyone battling cancer in their prayers. Sometimes the most meaningful gifts aren't measured in dollars and cents. They're measured in kindness, compassion, and the prayers we offer for one another. These two wonderful sisters reminded us that every act of generosity has a place in the fight against cancer. From our family to both of you, thank you, and God bless.

🏒💗 An Exciting Weekend for Us! 🥅

What an incredible tenth anniversary year this has been for us!

We recently received special recognition for our ten years of dedication to the October Saves Goalie Challenge, and we're incredibly honored and grateful!

And the excitement isn't over!

Tomorrow night, October 24, we're heading to Connecticut to join the Danbury Hat Tricks for their 7:00 PM game!

We'll be participating in the pregame festivities and meeting fans at our fundraising table. We're so excited to be part of this special night! Come join us!

A huge thank-you to the Danbury Hat Tricks organization for welcoming us and supporting our efforts.

We still have almost three weeks of events and fundraising ahead of us, and we can't wait to share what's coming next!

Play with Heart. Fight with Pride! 🏒💗

I just wanted to take a moment and thank every one for all the support that we have gotten and to take just a moment and remember Coach Pete Gianatiempo. He taught us respect, trust, honor and love. We'll never stop crying but you being in our lives gave us tears of joy as well as loss. Sleep with the angels coach.

A very special thank you to U.S. Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro of Connecticut's 3rd Congressional District and her wonderful staff, Jeffrey Bombard and Jen, for sending two Congressional Certificates of Recognition honoring Romanya “Monz” Granito and Andelina “Andi” Granito for their community service and ten years of fundraising through the October Saves Goalie Challenge.

Although our family lives in New York, Congresswoman DeLauro and her staff went above and beyond state and district boundaries to recognize these two young women and their dedication to fighting cancer.

Their kindness, encouragement, and generosity are wonderful examples of leadership and public service.

From our family to Congresswoman DeLauro, Jeff, and Jen: Thank you for making our girls feel recognized, appreciated, and inspired!

Help Monz and Andi reach their $20,000 fundraising goal and shut out cancer!
