My Mission

I’m Andrew Whitson, and I love running. What started as a way to lose weight quickly became one of my strongest passions. Over the past five years, I’ve run multiple marathons and ultramarathons—including a 100-miler. I love this sport, but now it’s time to run for something bigger than myself. When I discovered Undue Medical Debt, I knew I had found the right cause. Medical debt is one of the most pervasive and unjust issues in our country, and I want to help fight it. On Saturday, July 19th, I will attempt to run for 24 hours straight, with supporters pledging donations based on how many miles I cover in that time. Let me suffer physically, so Americans don’t have to suffer financially.

This morning at 8:00 am, I finished my 24 hour run to erase medical debt. We surpassed our goal, running 102.3 miles from 8:00 am Saturday, to 8:00 am Sunday. I can't express how grateful I am to everyone who came to support during this run, and to all the donors of this charity run, thank you.

Longest run before the charity run. Felt very good, especially since I ran 20 miles the previous day. Time to taper so I'm fresh on the 19th!

I'm excited to share my first run while the campaign page is up and receiving donations! I've been getting a lot of miles in the past few weeks, and I plan on getting many more in the next few as well. I'll share my progress here as we work to erase medical debt!
