This boy needs exercise. I am excited to support Citizens’ Climate Education and its work to build the political will for a livable climate. Let’s tie the two together.
For every donation to Citizens’ Climate through this campaign, no matter how large or small the amount, I commit to walk Aldo (the three-year-old pictured here) at least one mile. He is a rescue dog. Can you guess his breed? Donate to my campaign and I will include the answer in my response to your donation. It’s interesting.
Hint: He’s a working dog. He needs regular workouts. Let’s keep him walking.
Every tax-deductible gift to Citizens’ Climate Education (CCE) directly funds the training, education, and tools Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) volunteers need to effectively advocate for climate solutions.

I begin the new year with gratitude for many things. High among them is my appreciation for the 22 donations from the 20 of you (two of you donated twice!) who pushed my fundraising for Citizens’ Climate Education 20 percent past my target! Wow and wow.
Your dollars will support the work of small but enormously talented staff who help direct our efforts toward science-based, non-partisan climate policy. We are clear-eyed about the setbacks and challenges that arose in 2025 but also looking forward to the opportunity that 2026 holds.
For the record, the photo below was taken before the 26 miles of walking Aldo for this campaign began, on a favorite nearby summit we visit a few times each year, Mount Gailbrath.

Aldo was tuckered out after an easy two-miler yesterday but we are in good shape. We have walked 23 miles so far (a bit ahead of the 19 donations received).

We did five miles with 800 feet of vertical gain in two hours this morning on the Morrison Slide Trail, a favorite. Shorts would have been more comfortable than Levis. Aldo was a perfect gentleman with all the dogs we encountered along the way.

Aldo and I walked 2.4 miles on South Table Mountain yesterday, sharing the trail with cross-country skiers, joggers and more than a few dogs with hikers. I have 11 donations and have walked seven miles (I round down)
