Counting Birds for Conservation

I am excited to take part in the San Diego Birdathon, a birding challenge supporting San Diego Bird Alliance’s local conservation, education, and advocacy efforts that benefit birds, other wildlife, and all who enjoy them.

I'm proud to help protect endangered birds like the California Least Tern, Ridgway's Rail, and Belding's Savannah Sparrow by counting as many bird species as I can in 24 hours during my Birdathon. Please consider supporting my efforts by giving to my page. You can pledge per bird species I see or make a flat donation (both are tax-deductible). Every dollar counts for our feathered friends! Thank you.

Good morning everyone! Excited to share I saw 90 bird species both with my group Wild Birds Unlimited and a few by myself between 11AM on 04/11 and 11AM on 04/12. The highlights of the birdathon this year was the amount of nests and babies we saw! We definitely saw spring in action. With Wood ducklings, Canada goslings, Great Horned owlets and so many nests! We went to three locations including Robb’s Field, Steele Canyon for Sweetwater River, and Santee Lakes. It was an awesome birdathon! And I can’t wait for next year.
