The first ball was in the air at 5:45am and the last putt sunk at 7:15PM, A beautiful day making laps around the Goat which ultimately covered 24 miles, 55,000 steps, 210 floors, I personally hit that little white ball 410 times. The 2nd annual marathon match between me and Al Gieberger Jr. ended with him clipping me 3&1 on the 107th hole. Well played Al Jr!!! Rematch next year!The reason we do this craziness is to raise awareness and money to support the North County Junior Golf Association and the Goat Hill Park Caddie & Leadership Academy. These programs are making a huge difference in the lives of kids in our community ages 13-18. We have over 500 kids in the NCJGA and 25 selected every year for the Caddie & Leadership Academy. For example, the Lee twins in the photo, Ada and Annabelle began caddying 4 years ago as 14 year olds, they were shy and awkward and now both are excellent caddies and very confident around adults. The valuable people skills acquired in the past four summers will compliment their 4.2 GPA, and be every bit as valuable. Because our Caddie Academy is now an approved Evans Scholarship Caddie Program both girls are in line to qualify for a full ride college scholarship. That is a game changer and a huge opportunity for our local kids now. We have a great group of new kids in the Academy with lots of opportunity ahead, but we need your help!For those of you who have already made a donation, thank you very much!!
