I'm excited to join the 3rd annual 28x28 Mobility Challenge in support of So Every BODY Can Move, a landmark state-by-state policy and advocacy initiative creating equitable access to prosthetic and orthotic care for physical activity, currently deemed “not medically necessary” and not covered by insurance. I have been lucky to serve as one of the lead advocates for the initiative in Maryland. During the 2024 legislative session, we became the 6th state to pass legislation, and this past year, we expanded our coverage to include additional activity-specific devices! The stories of the patients who testified at our bill hearings brought such a powerful voice to this cause, and we are working hard to expand coverage for additional activity-specific devices across the country.
