Our team is excited to be a part of Feminist Bird Club's Birdathon for Birders of Palestine! We are coming together to celebrate the inclusive nature of bird joy while fundraising for Birders of Palestine, an independent project fundraising to support Palestinian birdwatchers.

Birdathon wrap up!

With the 2 FBC-Boston outings this weekend and then a checklist on my walk home on Sunday, I surpassed my goal and recorded 3 checklists this weekend. Lots of highlights but a major one was following a group of Robins straight to this Black-and-white Warbler foraging up and down the tree like a Nuthatch. 😊

Thank you to all my donors and donors to our team, folks that joined our outings this weekend, and participants of our fundraising team! It’s been incredible to see our community come together to support their birdathon campaign and the Sirdah sisters.

Hi everyone!

We did it!!!

We’ve come to the end of the Birdathon and I’m very excited to share that I reached my goal of submitting 30 birding checklists on eBird across the entire weekend!

I left my house at 5:45am today and other than a one hour break, I was on my feet until 7:30pm; I completed and submitted my remaining 13 bird lists and added 6 new birds to my life list, including a white ibis that showed up in Boston yesterday!

Across the Birdathon, I not only submitted 30 bird lists, but I saw 71 unique bird species, added 15 of those birds to my life list, visited 13 different locations, and walked 42,976 steps. Also, of the original 10 target birds I set, I was able to see 6 of them!

Thank you all again for your amazing support. We were able to raise $200 to support the Birders of Palestine project, which is incredible! Of course, if you know anyone who feels up to it, they’re more than welcome to still donate to the campaign as long as it is open.

It’s been an awesome weekend and doing it to support this cause has been incredibly rewarding.
