Let's bird for Mutual Aid!! Support FBC-ABQSF while we find 100 species!

New Mexico has experienced its fair share of natural disasters in recent years, including widespread fires and flooding in 2026. Mutual aid is so important during and after these events to help our neighbors find relief and rebuild, as well as develop preparedness strategies and community resilience.

Our birding community is coming together to celebrate the inclusive nature of bird joy while fundraising for Mutual Aid Disaster Relief; a grassroots disaster relief network based on the principles of solidarity, mutual aid, and autonomous direct action.

Please help us reach our goal by leaving a flat donation or making a pledge to support our birding efforts! Your support will help provide critical funds for those who are affected by climate disasters all over the world.

Thank you for considering and stay tuned for all our birding updates! 🐦

SIX SEVEN 😆

67 species as we close out day three of our Birdathon. We were lucky to find a very rare bird for our county and one that is difficult to see even where they are common - an American Bitten!

This is the first time this bird has been seen in Santa Fe county since 1972. Wild!

Stay tuned as more lists roll in over today and tomorrow. Thanks for following along!

Many birders braved the cold and we found 35 species this morning at the wetlands! It was a beautiful day and we added 15 species to our total. We know 100 is an ambitious number but we have two days left so fingers crossed!
