Join me to support kids with cancer
I’m riding to raise funds and awareness for local kids with cancer and their families. Every dollar pledged will go toward the mission of Candlelighters For Children With Cancer, a non-profit organization that provides life-changing programs and services for families facing cancer across Oregon and SW Washington. You can support me by pledging per mile, and following my progress on the Ride For A Child 2021 Leaderboard.
My personal mission is to help raise money to help families in a time of need! I have personal knowledge of what kinds of hardships and stress these families are enduring. My wife Sharon and I are both proud parents of a child cancer survivor and we had lots of help along the way. I rode in this last year and my goal is to beat last years marks. Please help me to reach my goals!

The last 2 weeks have been a little slower because of school starting again and a vacation. 22 miles this week to finish up. I didn’t reach either one of my goals for miles or donations but I’m comfortable with that, without goals and it’s just a wish…
Thank you for all that contributed to this great cause and I hope to do it again next year.

Folks, this week we returned to work and I’ve been on vacation to watch my beloved Ducks beat Ohio State for my birthday.
I literally only had time for 1 little ride this week and I feel so bad about that….

Well, back to reality a bit this week. Work is getting ready to crank up again and we had training for 2 days this week and cut into my bike time. I’d like to ride more but also have to get back to work with school starting…. I’ll try my beSt the next couple of weeks for everyone!

Another solid week! My goal is always 100 miles a week and succeeded this week, very happy.
Legs are a little sore but man my body is in good shape and feeling strong!

About Candlelighters
From diagnosis through treatment and beyond, Candlelighters provide programs that meet the needs of the whole family facing childhood cancer. Your support provides:
- $25: Fills the gas tank so families can get their child to the hospital for essential cancer treatment.
- $50: Fills a grocery bag of a family who may have had to leave a job to care for their child
- $100: Helps a family of four get essential food for several days or gas for several trips to the hospital for required treatments.
- $250: Fills the hospital pantry for one week, while families are in the hospital with their child who is receiving cancer treatment.
