My Birdathon Page

The Orange-crowned Warbler in the photo above died after it collided with a reflective window on the Seattle University campus. Deaths like this happen all the time. Our bird-window collision research suggests that buildings in Seattle could be killing at least 100,000 birds per year. The true toll is probably worse.

Our organization is working hard to understand bird-window collisions locally. We're also advocating for change to make our communities more hospitable for people and birds, including bird-friendly building regulations, improved urban forest management, and reduced use of toxic pesticides.

Please support me by making a donation through my fundraising page. Your gift of $250, $100, or $50 provides resources for urban conservation, environment education, and community science programs in our local community. Every dollar counts towards my goal! Thank you.

Always love birdathoning with the Honey Nut Vireos :) We totaled 80 species, including two lifers for me, American Bittern and Cinnamon Teal.

We also saw two about-to-fledge Rufous Hummingbirds.
