Let's checkmate climate change!
On Saturday, December 2nd, at 1 pm ET, I will play ten 3-minute chess games on the chess.com platform. You can sponsor me by pledging a donation to Citizens' Climate Education for every game I can win out of the 10 games. (Since I will be playing people of roughly equal strength, the odds are that I will win about 5 of those games.) If you choose to sponsor me, I will send you a Zoom link so you can watch the games live!
In a chess game, there are three key strategies: protect your king, control the center of the board, and get all of your pieces involved in the game. Citizens' Climate Education implements three similar strategies: protect the most important thing, which is the habitability of the earth; stand in the center of the political spectrum and reach out to both sides; and get as many citizens involved in the game as possible. By making a donation you become one of those pieces getting involved in the game.

Today is the day! At 1 pm ET on the Zoom line below, I will play my 10 "blitz" chess games. Thanks to your generosity, $925 has already been donated to Citizens' Climate Education through this campaign, and I can earn another $180 for every game I manage to win today. I hope you can tune in to watch at least some of the action!

Thank you again for donating to my "Chess for Climate Action" fundraiser! I will be playing my 10 games next Saturday, December 2, at 1 pm ET/10 am PT, on the Zoom line below. I hope you can join to cheer me on and watch the action! Ten blitz games (at 3 minutes per person for each game) can be played in about an hour, but I expect the event will run slightly longer than that if we stop to talk and laugh a little.
