Support my team in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon!
Hello friends! Our FBC-Madison chapter is back as team Yes We Pelican! and we're excited for another fun Birdathon. When you support our team, you're supporting the volunteer work our chapter does in the birding community to foster inclusivity and bird joy, as well as the Bird Protection Fund, which funds Wisconsin's highest priority bird conservation projects. It's a win-win!
Your support would mean a lot to me. Birds have made an incredible difference in my life and I want to protect them. Every dollar counts when it comes to helping our birds, so no donation is too small. Thank you for considering!
Pictured is a Piping Plover! I was so grateful to see this bird on the Gulf Coast this fall, where this species winters. A handful of pairs breed in Wisconsin but this species is endangered here and needs our support!

We did it! 🎉 FBC's team Yes We Pelican! was able to match last year's species count of 158 species -- the most species we've ever seen during our Birdathon day!
Not only did we reach our bird goal, but we also continued to soar beyond our fundraising goal. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and supported our team! We've raised over $2,500 #ForTheBirds! ❤️🐦

We have flown by our team's fundraising goal! Thank you so much for everyone's support! We still have birders in the field so there's still time to match last year's species count. Fingers crossed!

Mid-afternoon update from team Yes We Pelican! We've scoured Cherokee North, Cherokee South, Nine Springs, and Hoyt Park as a group. We're off to Lakeshore Nature Preserve this afternoon! Thanks to all our FBC members joining us and sharing eBird lists with us today! Here's to more birds later today!

Your Donation Makes a Difference For Birds
Donations made to the Great Wisconsin Birdathon support the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin’s Bird Protection Fund, which has given out over $1.4 million towards Wisconsin’s highest priority bird conservation projects since its inception in 2009.
Whether it's creating Piping Plover habitat, rearing Whooping Crane chicks, spreading awareness about declining songbirds, supporting community initiatives for bird-friendly neighborhoods, engaging new and underrepresented voices in the birding community, building impactful collaborations to protect Wisconsin's Important Bird Areas, or protecting our neotropical migrants on their long migratory journeys to Central America... the Bird Protection Fund is there to help.
Your donations make this work possible. Thank you for supporting on-the-ground conservation and being there #ForTheBirds!
