Excited to Spot Some Birds!
I'm excited to join this initiative! Protecting wildlife and our shared natural environment is important to me, and I love a good excuse to spot some local creatures.

It's officially over! We observed 12 different bird species total today, as well as 9 Python talks! Everybody learned to identify at least one new kind of bird, and other conference attendees got excited about birds with us! While we didn't hit our bird species goal, mostly because it rained a lot of the day and conference dinner ended up at a spot with fewer birds than the venue, we had a great time and raised several hundred dollars to support important bird conservation projects in the bay area!

On the way into the conference, we've already seen three bird species! There were two feral pigeons in the parking garage, 4 barn swallows in the parking lot at the event, and a red-winged Blackbird hanging out near the swallows! We're still warming up on taking pictures but hope to have something majestic to show you soon! We have pictures of these birds, but they're not really great pictures yet 😅

I'm currently setting up the team pages! We have about 4 spots left if you need a team and want to join. The two team photos are Night Herons from the Library of Congress's free image library. My personal profile photos are a picture of a Night Heron I took myself in Oakland a year or so ago!
