Our Mission for Advancing CDG Research
The Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center Million Dollar Bike Ride brings together patients, families, clinicians, researchers, and supporters to accelerate research for rare diseases.
This year, Team CDG is riding with purpose.
Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDG) are a group of more than 190+ rare genetic diseases, many without approved treatments. For families living with CDG, research represents hope for better diagnostics, therapies, and ultimately cures.
Through the Million Dollar Bike Ride, donations to Team CDG are eligible for a matching research grant from the Orphan Disease Center, helping turn every contribution into meaningful progress toward treatments.
Your support fuels research, empowers scientists, and strengthens a global community working to change the future for people living with CDG.
Join Team CDG and help accelerate the path to treatments.
In 2026, your donation will directly benefit our organization. Your donation not only helps further CDG research, but also benefits patients and families in our CDG community. The difference you can make is immeasurable. Thank you for your support!

I'm excited to share Andrew's biking progress! Andrew is diagnosed with SSR4-CDG, a multi-systemic disorder of protein folding which affects the central nervous system.
Andrew is part of an international CDG SSR4 1y Community patient group. We hope to bring awareness to SSR4-CDG and support research on interventions and mechanisms.
Now that the weather is fine, Andrew has been working hard on his tricycle, cycling near the pond near his house.
