Become a Champion. Make an Impact.

For young students in America, 3rd grade reading is a crucial mile marker. Students who are reading on grade level at that junction have an 89% chance of high school graduation and career success, regardless of household income level. Because literacy changes everything,

As a dedicated student athlete, I believe that every athlete can be BOTH great athletes and great readers. In partnership with the non-profit Champions for Literacy, I'm deciding to champion both by using my platform to resource and inspire young readers in our community.

We know every kid is capable. They simply need access and opportunity and this is where you can help support!

I also talk more about my involvement with Champions for Literacy on an episode of my school's podcast.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

I'm inviting you to help me provide resources to local literacy programs in our area. 100% of donations will be granted to Knowledge Quest to support their academic programming for young readers. These funds will be used to provide books, literacy resources and tutoring for local students.

Expand opportunities by making your donation today, and thank you for your consideration! Click DONATE on the top right of this page

ABOUT KNOWLEDGE QUEST

Knowledge Quest provides daily support for students grades Pre-K through 12 in an after school setting. For students in grades Pre-K-2nd, programming concentrates on Reading/Language Arts. This is designed to align with Memphis Shelby County Schools’ 3rd Grade Initiative and our involvement with the national initiative supporting reading proficiency, the Campaign for Grade Level Reading (CGLR). Participants in this grade-band receive at least 45 minutes of literacy-focused remediation and exposure 3 days a week.

With these funds, we aim to significantly enhance our literacy programs by upgrading essential technology and learning resources. Funds will be used to purchase high-quality computers, audio-visual equipment, and creative tools, providing students with state-of-the-art resources to support their educational and creative projects. Our goal is to foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment that encourages academic growth and personal development. By supporting our efforts, you are helping to create lasting, positive change in the lives of our youth.

Thank you so much to all of you who have already joined me in making an impact on literacy here in Memphis! I am so grateful and have already had an opportunity to spread the message of the importance of literacy.

Last week I was able to go to St. George's Germantown Campus, where I was once a student, and share about my mission as an Impact Player. It was awesome to be back, celebrating students who won the "Battle of the Books" and continuing to use my platform to promote how important it is to be a reader. Check out some pictures below!
